Growlode Squamish Garden Shop and Systems

The time has come to where it is very affordable and a healthy alternative to grow all, if not plenty of our own perishables.

After many years of organic / hydroponic research, there had to be a way to produce all kinds of homegrown, pesticide-free food in a beautiful, low maintenance system that would pay for itself almost instantly. Although it may sound too good to be true, that is exactly what Growlode is offering to you.

  • Indoor Garden Systems
  • Hobby Greenhouse setups
  • Outdoor Vertical Garden Systems
Environmental Concern
  • We receive most of our produce from California. Water issues and rising travel costs issues we can avoid.
  • Transportation of produce emits harmful greenhouse gases and reduces the 'fresh' taste.

Hydroponics

In the modern era, hydroponics makes sense as it enables the grower to conserve water and fertilizer while growing high yields in shorter periods of time. Also, since the media is sterile, it is pathogen free. Ultimately, although arguable, the best solution for the modern world?

Advantages

  • Minimal Water Consumption.
  • Faster Growth
  • Pathogen Free

Organics

Using natural gardening methods can help reduce waste while yielding flavorful produce, in addition to being environmentally conscious.

But buyer beware. Organic does not mean better; is is a set of local and foreign regulations for which farmers must abide; which can include the use of harmful, organic pesticides and even radioactive, 'au naturel' fertilizers like Rock Phosphate.

In the end, the moral attitude and knowledge base of the grower and all distribution handling is detrimental to determine the quality. I can go on and on; such as conventional water usage is not planetary aligned(in general) and many organic fertilizers like manures can be full of pathogens like Ecoli and Salmonella.

Here is an article by the New York Times that discusses these issues. Again Organics can be good, but laws don't make that a fact.

Advantages

  • Reuse industry waste like Bloodmeal from slaughterhouses and food waste from residents.
  • Savings from costly produce
  • Reusable media crop to crop

If you have children, does it not make sense to teach them to be self sufficient and healthy?

Buying organic does not mean it is safe. It means the producer likely abides by standards for reaching organic status. Remember, Rotenone is organic and organic pesticides are not safe!
